Who is Coolsmiles?

Sounds like a silly question, right?  We’re an orthodontic office and we love to enhancing smiles and making teeth straight.  However, that’s not all we believe we do.  Our mission is to enhance the self-esteem of our patients and empower them to achieve whatever goals they aspire to.

You can tell a lot about anyone by what they say, but you can learn a lot more by what they do.  At Coolsmiles Orthodontics one of our core values is community service.  We believe that all businesses have a responsibility to give back to their communities and we take that very seriously.  In addition to supporting local schools, our staff often participates in activities such as “Relay for Life” and marathon running for the “Boomer Esiason Foundation“.  During the holidays we collected food for the Harry Chapin Food Bank of Long Island.  Dr. David and I are charter members of “Smiles Changes Lives” and have donated our services to this worthwhile program that helps local indigent children receive orthodontic care.  Dr. David has been active with the local chapter of the “Make A Wish” foundation, enabling children to live out their dreams.

My passion is helping children born with facial deformities, such as cleft lips and palates.  I volunteer my time at both St.Charles and Stony Brook Hospitals.  In addition, I have had the privilege to serve on twelve overseas missions all over the world with Smile Train, Operation Smile and Health Volunteers Overseas. These missions are extremely rewarding, but do not address the needs of children with more severe facial disfigurements.  To meet the needs of these children, I am proud to announce that I have recently established a non-profit organization called the “ Smile Rescue Fund for Kids.”   We are currently raising money to fund corrective facial surgery for a young girl in Kenya named Saline.  If you are interested in helping, or are able to make a small contribution, click here to learn more.
